Cookie Policy
This policy explains which cookies FollowDeveloper (Followone Romania SRL) uses on followdeveloper.com, what for, how long they are stored and how you can control them. We use a minimal set of strictly necessary cookies — no analytics, no marketing, no advertising.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that your browser stores on your device when you visit a site. They allow pages to work correctly, remember preferences (such as your language) and, in general, can be used to measure traffic. On followdeveloper.com we only use cookies that are strictly necessary for the site to function.
2. Which cookies we use
- cookieConsent — stores your choice from the cookie banner (Accepted or Rejected). Duration: 180 days. Legal basis: legitimate interest — required for the GDPR banner to function (without it, the banner would reappear on every visit).
- NEXT_LOCALE — stores the language you selected (en, ro, it, fr, de) so you don't have to reselect it on each visit. Set by the next-intl framework. Legal basis: legitimate interest — core functionality.
- That is all. We do not use analytics cookies (Google Analytics, GTM, Hotjar), nor marketing or advertising cookies (Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, TikTok Pixel), we do not build advertising profiles and we do not sell data.
3. Third-party cookies
- Google Maps — only on the Contact page
The /contact page includes an interactive Google Maps frame, lazy-loaded on demand. When you open the map, Google may set its own cookies in your browser, in line with its privacy policy (policies.google.com). It is the only third-party script that runs on the site. No external tracking code is loaded on the rest of the pages.
- No other third-party providers
We do not use Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, TikTok Pixel, reCAPTCHA, YouTube/Vimeo embeds or similar tools. The only data transfers to third parties are those required to deliver core services (Microsoft Azure hosting, MongoDB Atlas database, email delivery) — described in detail in the Privacy Policy.
4. How to control cookies
The banner shown on your first visit lets you accept or reject cookies through the “Accept all cookies” and “Reject all cookies” buttons. Either way, the cookieConsent cookie is set for 180 days to remember your preference. You can change your mind at any time by deleting the site's cookies in your browser settings — at the next visit the banner will reappear. All modern browsers (Chrome, Edge, Safari, Firefox, Brave) let you block or delete cookies for a specific site through Settings → Privacy. Disabling strictly necessary cookies may mean some preferences (chosen language, banner choice) are no longer remembered between sessions.
5. Changes and contact
We may update this policy whenever we add or remove cookies. The current version reflects the configuration as of 2 May 2026. For any question about cookies or how we handle your data, you can contact us at contact@followdeveloper.com
